Meet And Greet July 2nd

June 21, 2011

by Miamicountyopencarry

We will be hosting a Meet and Greet Saturday July 2nd At 2pm. we will be meeting at :

Panera Bread

1920 West Main Street

Troy, OH 45373-1017

This is an informal get together for people who carry or are thinking about carrying. I will be Open carrying as will Many others in attendance. If Open Carry just isn’t your “Thing” Feel free to Conceal Carry, or not Carry at all. As this is an informal meet and greet, NOT a protest, I am strongly requesting NO Long Guns. Panera was gracious enough to allow us this opportunity to get together, I do not want to create any issues with Long Guns in the restaurant. I am hoping to do a cookout in the park later this summer. At that time we will revisit the carry of Long Guns.

Hopefully we will be able to Celebrate the Signing of SB 17  by then. If you have any comments you may leave them in the comment box below, or you can email me  miamicountyopencarry@gmail.com

if you have never carried, or even shot a firearm, do not let that keep you from coming to this event. there will be people there to talk to about firearms, firearms safety, and legal carrying.

I am trying to make sure that a Couple instructors will be there to discuss training possibilities with anyone who is looking for a class for CCW, or unarmed self-defense as well.

I hope to see you all there.
Bill

On Memorial Day — Keep the Memory of Those Who Died In Your Name Alive – FoxNews.com

May 28, 2011

For most of my life, I was like most people: I knew what Memorial Day stood for, but I didn’t really stop to think about what it truly meant. That changed after I went to Iraq in 2004 as a civil-affairs soldier with the Army Reserves. When you serve with people who don’t come home, Memorial Day means something different.

Memorial Day is not about politics. Whatever your feelings about current or former wars, remember this: All military personnel take an oath. The fallen swore and gave their lives honoring a promise:

    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/05/27/memorial-day-memory-died-alive/?test=faces

“The Vietnam memorial honors the fallen. The Korean memorial also honors who fell. But, remember, these are not just numbers or names on a wall. They are your fellow citizens, who died in your name. Keep their memory alive.”
